Customs educate officers on data generation, analytics

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) last week held a three-day capacity building workshop for its officers on data generation, analytics, and storage.

The workshop was held from Monday to Wednesday at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada to enhance the service’s capabilities in modern customs operations through improved data handling.

Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, Malanta Yusuf, who represented the Comptroller General, Adewale Adeniyi, emphasised the critical role of data in strategic planning and operational efficiency.

He also highlighted that effective decision-making relies on robust data generation and analytics. He stressed that historical data is essential for organisations like Customs, responsible for border management and trade facilitation.

“This workshop is designed to equip officers with comprehensive knowledge in various aspects of data management,” he said.
