53 Year-Old Father Of Seven Stabbed To Death In Lagos
- A 53-year-old Olalekan Okeowo was stabbed to death in an unfinished structure at about 0100 hrs on Sunday, 30th April 2023 while sleeping in his apartment at Salvation Estate Owode Ajah. The deceased was survived by his wife and seven children, including a set of twins born seven months ago.
Police Kill Suspected Kidnapper In Delta Hotel Raid
- Delta State Police Command operatives stormed a hotel in Agbarho, the Ughelli North Local Government Area, on Sunday, 30th, neutralized one suspected kidnapper and arrested three others with varying degrees of gunshot injury, following reports of ongoing kidnapping and armed robbery operations in Ughelli, Warri, and environs. The police team also recovered one AK-47 rifle, one double barrel locally made gun, 18 rounds of ammunition, and GLK Benz jeep from the suspects.
Ondo Police Arrest Man For Killing Peacemaker
- On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, the Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of Rafiu Akinwale in connection with the death of one Prince Adesoji Adesida. The Oodua Peoples Congress member allegedly pushed a peacemaker, Prince Adesida, while attempting to settle a fight between the suspect and his wife at a funeral held at the International Cultural and Event Centre, Akure on Friday, 28th April, 2023.
Kaduna Police Parade 350 Suspected Criminals
- On Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023, the Kaduna Police Command paraded 350 suspected criminals who had been terrorizing the state at the Police Headquarters. According to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, the command has launched a massive manhunt for the offenders in response to public outcry over the malicious acts of these criminal elements, also known as “ara suka” operating within the city. Bandits Kidnap Former NULGE Chairman In Nasarawa
- On Monday, May 2nd, 2023, at about 1900 hours, a former chairman of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Nasarawa State was kidnapped by gunmen on his way from Akwanga. The kidnappers set up a false roadblock on the Akwanga-Jos highway between Ningo village and Andaha and opened fire on travelers, unfortunately, the victim ran into them and was taken away. The kidnappers called the family and demanded a ransom of two million naira to secure his release.
NSCDC Operatives Allegedly Gun Down A 28-Year-Old Man In Niger
- Officers from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps’ Niger State Command allegedly shot a 28-year-old boy in the head in Minna’s Brighter School neighborhood. The heinous crime took place between 2300 hrs on Monday, May 1st, 2023 and 0130 hrs on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023, while NSCDC members were patrolling the area in their patrol vehicle. According to reports, about five teenagers were sitting outside at the time but fled when they saw the agents on a routine patrol.
Police Nab Rivers Suspected Cyber Criminal Kingpin
- The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) apprehended a 21-year-old cybercrime kingpin using Seasoned Cybercrime Forensic and Intelligence Assets. On July 15, 2022, the NPF received a credible tip from the Hungary Police via their National Central Bureau. According to an intelligence assessment, the platform has defrauded unsuspecting members of the global Cyber Community out of thousands of dollars.
