The Nigerian International Maritime Summit (NIMS) is scheduled to take place from May 26th to May 29th, 2021, with the aim of expanding trade opportunities for the sector and increasing the quality of services offered to the national economy.
You may register for the event directly on their website here: https://nims.com.ng/register/
NIMS promotes both Nigerian and international maritime businesses to targeted industry buyers. It is the official entry point for the Nigerian Maritime Cluster Initiative (“NIMCI”).
According to Ose Omobhude, Programme Officer of NIMS, the event is an initiative of the maritime industry’s private unified private sector facilitated by a special industry-wide partnership and supported by government.
‘NIMS sets the agenda and highlights options for Nigerian maritime industry, strategy, and operations. NIMS will include discussions on cross-cutting facets of maritime industry activities, market, law, and politics, in addition to Nigeria’s first interactive virtual maritime exhibition and trade show.
“The NIMS agenda is driven by a two-pronged approach centered on information and policy growth, as well as industry-wide service optimization. If the former will be accomplished through meetings, policy lobbying, and participation at the annual event and ad hoc business engagement series, the latter will be accomplished through the establishment of a dependable and productive industry-driven maritime cluster for Nigeria. A high-level volunteer Board of Directors and an Advisory Council help NIMS, a non-governmental initiative.”
