Wallenius Wihelmsen declares four PCTC options at Jinling Shipyard

The options are for a quartet of 9,300 ceu, methanol dual-fuel pure car truck carriers (PCTC) to be delivered between May and November 2027.

The newbuilds will also be ammonia-ready and bring the number of Shaper Class vessels Wallenius Wilhelmsen has on order at the Chinese yard to eight.

The company says the vessels will play a key part in its planned net-zero emissions service by end 2027.

“Together with our customers we are committed to further shaping our industry and accelerating towards net zero. These new vessels are a vital part of that journey,” said Xavier Leroi, EVP & COO Shipping Services for Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

The shipping company has further options at the Chinese shipyard.

Car carrier newbuild orders continue to roll in and as reported on Seatrade Maritime News Norwegian Car Carriers has order two 7,000 ceu, LNG dual-fuel PCTCs at CIMC Raffles.
